Commenting is an important method for collaborating within Maze. Commenting on reports enables you to discuss your findings, raise questions, explore solutions, and engage with stakeholders throughout the process.
All project members and viewers are able to view comments and add comments on a report, while guests who have not been invited to the project will only be able to view the basic report.
Adding and viewing comments in your report
If you are at least a Viewer on the associated project, you'll be able to see comments and add your own simply by clicking into one of the blocks on the test. Each block has its own comment section, and supports comments and replies one level deep.
Adding a comment
If you want to add a new top-level comment, simply start writing your comment in the comment field and click Add Comment:
Adding a reply
If you want to reply to an existing comment, you can click Add reply to bring up a new comment nested beneath the original:
By default, replies will be collapsed when viewing comments in a block. You can expand the replies by clicking Show replies:
Deleting a comment
If you need to delete a comment you've left, you can do so by clicking the triple dot menu beside your comment and then clicking Delete as shown below:
Inviting viewers to comment on a report
If you want to invite someone to participate in commenting on your report, they'll need to be a Viewer on the project. You can invite them by following the steps in How to invite Viewers for each project on which they'll be collaborating.
If someone will be collaborating on a large number of projects/reports, you may want to consider adding them as a Team Member instead since Team Members should enjoy access to all projects and reports automatically.
Requesting access to comment on a report
If you are not logged into Maze or are not at least a Viewer on the associated project, you will only see the basic report.
To view comments or add you're own, you will need to request to be added as a Viewer on the project. To make that simpler, you'll be able to enter your email address and request access right from the report as shown below:
