Commenting on reports enables your team to discuss findings, raise questions, explore solutions, and engage with stakeholders throughout the process.
All project members and collaborators are able to view comments and add comments to a report, while guests who have not been invited to the project will only be able to view the basic report.
Adding and viewing comments in your report
If you are at least a collaborator on the project, you'll be able to see comments and add your own simply by clicking into one of the blocks on the test. Each block has its own comment section and supports comments and replies one level deep.
Adding a comment
If you want to add a new top-level comment, simply start writing your comment in the comment field and click Comment.
Adding a reply
If you want to reply to an existing comment, you can click Reply to bring up a new comment nested beneath the original:
Expanding replies
By default, replies will be collapsed when viewing comments in a block. You can expand the replies by clicking Show replies:
Deleting a comment
If you need to delete a comment you've left, you can do so by clicking the triple dot menu beside your comment and then clicking Delete as shown below:
Inviting collaborators to comment on a report
If you want to invite someone to participate in commenting on your report, they'll need to be a collaborator on the project. You can do so by following the steps in Inviting collaborators to a specific project for each project on which they'll be collaborating.
If someone is collaborating on a large number of projects/reports, you may want to consider adding them as a team member instead. Team members can access to all projects and reports automatically.
Requesting access to comment on a report
If you are not logged into Maze or are not at least a collaborator on the associated project, you will only see the basic report.
To view comments or add you're own, you will need to request to be added as a collaborator on the project. To make that simpler, you'll be able to enter your email address and request access right from the report as shown below:
Comment notifications
You can edit your comment notification settings in your account's Email Preferences.
