SCA (Strong Customer Authentication) and 3DS (3D Secure) are security protocols used to authenticate online transactions. Generally, Maze supports cards with SCA and 3DS.
However, there are some cases where you might run into trouble when purchasing credits for our hired tester panel, depending on the SCA/3DS flow used by your card provider, or when using single-use disposable virtual cards.

In such cases, you may encounter one of the following errors:
We are unable to authenticate your payment method. Please choose a different payment method and try again.

Workarounds
- Retry the transaction: In some cases, the transaction may be able to go through on the second attempt.
- Use a different card: There are other cases where transactions might fail after a second attempt, especially (but not limited to) when using single-use cards. In these cases, we'd recommend using a different card for the credit purchase.
- Try purchasing fewer credits: You may also be able to work around these issues by purchasing a smaller credit bundle — for instance, purchasing 50 credits instead of 100 might help.
