When recruiting participants from the unmoderated panel, you’ll see an estimation of the available active participants. This is the number of panel participants that match the criteria you’ve specified and that have been active in the last two weeks.
With a larger pool of potential participants, the task will be open to more people. As a result, it’s likelier that your test order is completed faster.
Adding more specific targeting criteria will limit the participant pool. Because fewer people will see the task, the order may take longer to be fulfilled.
Why do I see fewer participants than expected?
- Adding more restrictive targeting criteria will narrow the estimated participant pool.
- If your maze has Clips enabled, that’ll also reduce the available participants. We automatically filter out testers who aren’t willing to be recorded.
How to handle a smaller pool size
Panel orders don’t stop automatically. They stay active until the number of participants you’ve selected has completed your maze.
If there aren’t enough active participants, the order might stall. That means it might take too long to receive all the responses you’ve purchased.
If the responses are coming in too slowly, you may stop the order. This allows you to place a new order with less restrictive criteria.
