When ordering testers from the Maze panel, you will see an estimation of the available active participants. This is the number of participants on the panel with the characteristics you’ve specified, which have been recently active.
This figure is an estimation, not the number of testers that are guaranteed to see/take your maze. Responses may vary with factors such as the day and time you make the order, and the length of your maze.
With a larger pool of potential participants, the task will be open to more people. As a result, it's likelier that your test order is completed faster.
Adding more specific targeting criteria will restrict the participants pool. Because fewer people will potentially see the task, the order may take longer to be fulfilled.
Why do I see fewer participants than expected?
- Adding more restrictive targeting criteria will narrow the estimated pool size.
- Hiring testers for a maze with Clips enabled will also reduce the available participants. We automatically filter out testers who aren't willing to be recorded.
How to handle a smaller pool size
Tester orders don't stop automatically. They stay active until the number of testers you've selected has completed your maze.
If there aren't enough active participants, the order might stall. That means it might take too long to receive all tester results you’ve purchased.
If the responses are coming in too slowly, you may stop the tester order. This will allow you to place a new order with less restrictive criteria.
