The Maze panel is powered by Prolific. To learn more about the participants, please refer to Prolific's help documentation.
At the moment, you can select the following criteria when recruiting testers for your maze:
- Targeting: Gender, Age, Language, Country, Supported devices, Industry
- Advanced: Education level, Highest education level completed, Employment status, Role, Personal income (GBP), Household income (GBP/USD). Advanced filters are available in the Organization plan.
Please note that the participant pool size for certain filters is significantly smaller.
Targeting filters
These filters are available to users on all plans.
Gender
- Any
- Man
- Woman
- Non-binary
Age
You can select participants between 18 and 100 years old.
Language requirement
You can filter testers by any language and we will source testers who report being fluent in that language. However, the participant pool size for certain languages is significantly smaller.
The language of the maze UI is automatically set based on the tester's browser preference. However, please note that Maze only localizes the testing interface. You still need to manually translate the content of your mazes (i.e. tasks and other assets) to the selected language, since we do not automatically translate your content.
For this reason, you'll generally want to do a separate maze for each language rather than placing an order for multiple languages in the same maze.
Country
Prolific has participants living in most OECD countries, including the United Kingdom, United States, France, Germany, Spain, among many others.
Supported devices
Panel testers are able to test on the following devices:
- Mobile phone
- Tablet reader
- Tablet
- Laptop
- Desktop
If your maze includes a mission block, the supported devices are automatically pre-selected based on the dimensions of your prototype. It's not possible to order tests for devices that wouldn't support the size of the screens used in the maze. For instance, if you're testing a desktop prototype, you can only hire testers on desktop or laptop devices. If you're testing a mobile prototype, you can only hire testers on mobile devices.
