Deleting a test session permanently removes all answers and Clips recordings from an individual participant in a maze.
Before you start
- Only team members can delete a testing session. This option isn’t available for project collaborators.
- Deletion of test sessions is permanent and can’t be undone. You must verify that you are deleting the correct session before confirming deletion. The Maze team isn’t able to recover deleted test sessions.
Deleting a testing session
To delete an individual session from your testing results:
- Open the Results tab.
- Navigate to the Participant tab to bring up the list of all people who have tested the maze.
- Locate the participant you wish to delete, and click their test session.
- Click the More menu (•••), then select Delete this session from the drop-down.

In the confirmation modal, click Delete to permanently delete the session.
What do I do if I'm a participant and I want my data deleted?
If you are a research participant and would like to request deletion of your data, please contact the researcher who conducted your study directly and provide your participant ID. You can obtain your participant ID from your research provider (such as Prolific, User Interviews, or other platforms).
Once you've made this request, the researcher will need to contact our support team at help@maze.design to initiate the deletion process for your session.
Please note that while we can share the request, researchers are not obligated to delete participant data, and we cannot enforce data deletion on their behalf.
