What changes can I make when editing a live maze?

In some cases, you may find it helpful to edit a maze after publishing it.

Such edits may impact how your testers interpret your questions/tasks, affecting your results. This is particularly sensitive when changing a maze where testers have already started responding.

To protect the integrity of your data, not all fields in a block can be edited directly.

Overview

The following are the actions you can take when editing a live maze.

Edit allowed

It's possible to edit the block directly.

Breaking change

Breaking changes (i.e. changes that are significant enough that it would be challenging to reconcile data collected before and after the edit) are disabled by default.

The only way to make those changes is by creating a new version of the block (i.e. duplicate and hide it).

This way, data collected before the change is presented in the original block, and data collected after the change is presented in the new block.

Not allowed

It's not possible to make those changes on a live maze. To change any of these settings, you’ll need to duplicate the maze, or create one from scratch.
