With Reach, you can send mazes as campaigns directly to the segments you've created.
This article shows you how to set up your campaigns and, if you're on the Organization plan, use a custom email domain in your campaigns.
Current limitations
- URL parameters aren't supported when sending out Reach campaigns.
- In particular, it's not possible to disable unique sessions (
?guerilla=true
) in mazes sent via Reach. To allow participants to test the same maze multiple times, please use an alternative sharing option.
From Reach
- In Reach, open the segment you'd like to send a campaign to.
- Click Create campaign in the top right.
From the Share page
- Open the maze you would like to test and send it live.
- The Share page gives you different options to invite testers to your maze. To send your maze directly to a Reach segment, click Send Reach campaign.
Set up your campaign
The aspects of your campaigns that you can customize include:
Subject line
This is what testers will see first in their inbox. Make it short, snappy, and attention-grabbing for better responses.
It is automatically preset to "Help us test our new feature"
Sender name
Adjust how the sender name should appear to testers.
It is automatically preset to "Hello from [your name]'s [your team name]"
Recipients
Select the Reach segment you would like to send this maze to.
Sender email
Reach emails are sent from a @mazetesting.com email address by default.
If you're on the Organization plan, you can send Reach emails from a custom email domain.
Reply to
Define who should receive the reply if recipients reply to the campaign email.
If a 'reply-to' address is not set, testers won't be able to reply to you.
E-mail body
Customize the email body to fit your brand, and share more information about the test.
You can use the following placeholders in the e-mail body, as well as the subject line and sender name:
-
{{ FirstName }}
- The sender's first name -
{{ LastName }}
- The sender's last name -
{{ TeamName }}
- Name of the team -
{{ Role }}
- The sender's role
At the moment, we don't support other types of merge tags in Reach campaigns. If this is something you'd be interested in, please let our team know!
Attached maze
Select the maze you want to send out to be tested.
Signature
Hide or show a signature in your email.
In the signature, you can include an optional team or profile image, as well as two lines of additional information.
The team image is the one you've set in the team settings, whereas the profile image is the one you've set in your personal settings.
Why is my logo cut off?
In some cases, you may notice that your team logo appears partially cut off. If you encounter this behavior, please reupload the image in the team settings, using the following dimensions:
- Width: 71 px
- Height: 48 px
- Rounded corner: 12 px
- Margin between the logo and the frame: 8 px
Use a custom email domain in your campaigns (Organization plan)
If your team is on the Organization plan, you have the option to send Reach campaigns from a custom email domain owned by you, instead of the @mazetesting.com default.
To send campaigns from a custom email domain:
- In the campaign modal, click the email domain under Send from.
- Select your custom domain from the dropdown.
- Click Add domain to be taken to your Campaign Settings to set up a custom domain.
Review & send
- Once you've set up your campaign, click Continue.
- Confirm all the details: sender name and email, reply-to-address, and subject line.
- Under 'Delivery', you can confirm the total number of people your campaign will be sent to.
This includes your selected segment, minus the participants who are a part of the segment, but are excluded from campaigns for one of the following reasons:- Unsubscribed: Participants who have opted out from receiving Reach emails
- Duplicates: Participants who have already received the same maze through a different campaign
- Bounced: Participants with email delivery failures in previous campaigns.
- If you want to receive a test email before sending out the campaign, click Send test.
- When you're ready, click Send email.
Why aren't testers seeing my Reach emails?
Maze follows best practices to improve the delivery of emails sent from Reach campaigns. Notably, we use secure delivery methods to reduce the risk of our emails getting marked as spam by mistake.
However, Reach emails can still be filtered out, particularly if your participants' email service has additional security filters set up. If you're seeing very low response rates in your Reach campaigns, this might be the culprit.
